A year in a call center made my communication skills, especially to foreigners, improve in miles. It was an outbound company so my convincing powers were really pushed to the limits. It was a sort of training ground for me. I learned how to type while the person on the other end was talking. I search the internet for answers to their questions, while I speak and not breaking the conversation with dead air. I used simple formula with MS Excel for my data. As for my writing skills, well, I was an associate editor-in-chief way back high school and the only time I got to use the writing/editing skill again was when I was in college. I did the edits for the research papers for my group.
Aside from the truth that I want to have a job just to have money, I want a job because I want to use what I got. In this case I want a company to use my skills, then it's a win-win situation.
