Profile Description

Once on the job, an encoder will need to enlist other skills and attributes not taught in the classroom. Among these are reading and writing comprehension, near vision,
speech recognition, critical thinking and time management. The high volume of written material that must be transferred to a data format requires the encoder to read, interpret and transfer quickly, efficiently and accurately. The ability to coordinate reading, typing and thinking, then, is mandatory. To ensure information is transferred accurately, the encoder must also be able to compare and contrast information, but do so at a fast pace. And finally, to be successful, the encoder must be able to follow instructions carefully by listening and/or reading instructions, while also being aware of necessary edits. Strong communication skills are paramount in data entry.
