I focus primarily on the site execution and coordination aspects of structural engineering, while also possessing foundational knowledge in design. I have strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, using it extensively to draft technical documents, inspection reports, and professional correspondence. I have been using Word since my student years and have applied it professionally both in full-time work and part-time roles, including preparing handouts and tests for students.

I have been using AI tools since before their recent widespread adoption. Early on, I used ChatGPT to assist with studying, while always relying primarily on my own knowledge. In my professional work, I leverage AI to streamline tasks, such as learning Excel formulas or quickly finding relevant excerpts from structural codes, using it as an aid to enhance efficiency rather than as a replacement for professional judgment.

As part of my responsibilities, I performed quantity takeoffs for structural elements, focusing on rebar-to-concrete ratios for foundations, retaining walls, columns, slabs, SOGs, beams, girders, and diaphragm reinforcements. I utilized company-provided Excel-based estimation sheets to calculate material quantities, which were then used to assess designs for value engineering opportunities and optimize structural efficiency.

I frequently use Microsoft Excel for quantity takeoffs and, occasionally, for viewing project schedules. I have a solid understanding of formulas and data manipulation, and I possess introductory knowledge of macros for automating tasks and improving efficiency.

I frequently worked with DWG files for reviewing structural submittals, making AutoCAD an essential part of my workflow. I am proficient in drafting drawings, having gained foundational skills during my college coursework, and can efficiently navigate, edit, and annotate plans. Overall, I possess practical experience and a solid working knowledge of AutoCAD for design and review tasks.
