Profile Description

I am a BS Tourism graduate from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. During my academic years, I was the president of our class for five semesters. I was also able to spearhead events by being the Overall Event Chairperson of an interschool tourism pageant and a research colloquium.
I acquired my 5-star qualities from a reputable hotel, the Mandarin Oriental, Manila. I worked as a Management Trainee for a year. I was honed to be very optimistic, productive, well-rounded, and sensitive to the needs of our guests. Being a front liner, I was exposed to different kinds of people thus I was able to learn how to deal with situations at hand.
After my first job experience, I decided to volunteer at VSO under the International Citizen Service (ICS) Program. VSO is an independent international development organization that works through volunteers to fight poverty. ICS, on the other hand, is a program funded by the United Kingdom which gives British and Filipino youth the opportunity to live, work and learn together, develop and share valuable skills, and make practical contributions to disadvantaged communities faced with challenging situations in the Philippines. I was assigned in Bohol along with 20 other volunteers (10 of which were British and 9 were Filipinos). We were in a unique setting for three months because we were living and working cross-culturally. We worked with the local government, schools, out of school youth, and barangay officials around the Carood Region. Our main role was the information dissemination on the risks and benefits of the Carood Watershed. On our three-month program, my British counterpart and I were able to reach 243 students and out-of-school youth. We were also able to produce a research paper tackling on the Municipality of Ubay’s Solid Waste Management.
