I have worked for a BPO(Business Process Outsourcing/Contact Center) company here in the Philippines for 2 years. I was assigned to the technical support account where we handled customers with issues regarding their internet connection. We would guide these clients in troubleshooting their network connections. When I first started out in technical support, believe it or not, I didn't know what a browser was. In fact, my trainer said that I would not last 3 months. Fortunately enough, I lasted 2 years, and was even promoted to a supervisory position. The reason, why I am telling you this is because I wanted to show you that I am a quick learner. I also learned how to multitask. I tell you, multitasking is one of the basic skills that you have to develop when you want to work in this kind of Industry. I also have average typing skills. If I can remember my typing test results correctly, I can type between 35 - 40 words per minute. I also strongly believe that I have developed a good set of people skills. Because when you're working with tech. support, especially for dsl(internet connections), you gotta learn how to calm the irate client on the other end. I guess these are a few skills of mine that I feel would be an asset to any company that I am applying for.
