I am an agency writer-turned-consultant providing editorial and copy services for all marketing, public relations, web content, name study and tagline requirements.
I graduated from Thames Valley University in London and moved to the Philippines immediately after college where I signed up for my first job as copywriter with multi-national ad agency Bozell Worldwide in 1997. There, I reported directly to the executive creative director and was part of a team that handled accounts such as Avis and Bank of Southeast Asia.
In 1998, I applied at Basic Advertising – a sister company of French multi-national communications and advertising company Publicis – which was known in the industry for its Ad School, an intensive advertising course that also paid a salary. I was selected to be part of the 10-student class and after completing the three-month course, I was regularized as a full-time employee and spent the next three years handling the agency’s biggest account – Jollibee Foods Corporation.
In 2001, I accepted an offer from Music Television (MTV) Philippines to be their marketing manager, where I spearheaded a 6-man marketing team in successfully launching the popular network in the country. However, marketing was not my passion and I missed the writing aspect of the work. In 2002, the perfect offer came in from communications agency DDB Philippines to be senior writer under the marketing public relations group for the country’s largest mobile telecom network – SMART Communications – as well as American insurance corporation AIG. I then spent the next nine years with DDB, going from senior writer to creative head of the marketing public relations group, eventually making a lateral transfer to AD Verbum PR where I handled the editorial and accounts requirements of Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) Company account until March 2011.
After AD Verbum PR, I decided to take a break from corporate and have been independent ever since.
I am proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Exporer) as well as WordPress and social media networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and FourSquare. I was also entrusted with the social media campaign of an alcohol brand on Twitter on behalf of their advertising agency.
I currently work on a Mac and have a reliable broadband connection with download speeds of up to 1mbps.
