I worked as a legal secretary/assistant for mid-sized law firms in Los Angeles and San Francisco for 30 years.
I type about 60wpm and write/compose my own letters.
I worked with American lawyers specializing in various areas of law, i.e., torts, medical malpractice, eviction, personal injury, estate planning, family law and immigration.
I translated for Filipino clients who had difficulty understanding and speaking english.
I followed-up with doctors and clients regarding their reports and status of claims.
I also transcribed client and witness interviews.
As litigation secretary, I typed pleadings, prepared exhibits, scanned and/ or faxed documents for filing with the Court.
I scheduled depositions, organized files, even prepared client trust and petty cash accounts.
I have transcribed client interviews and telephone conversations.
I read, write and speak English and Tagalog fluently.
