Experienced Bookkeeper (QuickBooks Desktop & Canadian Accounting)

About The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with strong QuickBooks Desktop experience and a solid understanding of Canadian accounting principles.

This is a long-term remote opportunity for someone who is highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of maintaining accurate financial records with minimal supervision.

We are looking for someone who understands bookkeeping beyond basic data entry and can confidently handle reconciliations, general ledger accounts, and accounting processes.

You will be working directly with our accounting team and may be responsible for supporting multiple client accounts. One of the primary accounts you will assist with is 6ix Donutz, along with other businesses as assigned.

Responsibilities

* Maintain and update financial records in QuickBooks Desktop
* Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
* Manage and maintain General Ledger (GL) accounts
* Categorize and record financial transactions accurately
* Perform bookkeeping data entry
* Assist with month-end reconciliations
* Review financial records for discrepancies and errors
* Maintain organized accounting documentation
* Assist with financial reporting as needed
* Work across multiple client accounts as assigned
* Work closely with our accounting team to ensure accuracy

Requirements

Required:

* Strong QuickBooks Desktop experience
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills
* Minimum 2+ years bookkeeping experience
* Understanding of Canadian bookkeeping and accounting practices
* Experience with General Ledger accounts
* Experience performing reconciliations
* Strong attention to detail
* Excellent organizational skills
* Strong written English
* Ability to work independently

Preferred:

* Experience working with Canadian businesses
* Formal bookkeeping or accounting education
* Experience cleaning up historical bookkeeping records
* Experience handling multiple client accounts
* Experience handling large transaction volumes

Success in this role will be measured by:

* Accuracy of bookkeeping records
* Timely completion of reconciliations
* Accuracy of GL account maintenance
* Error reduction and issue identification
* Completion of assigned accounting tasks
* Ability to manage multiple accounts effectively
* Overall reliability and attention to detail

Hours & Compensation

* Full-Time Position
* Long-Term Opportunity
* Starting Compensation: $7 CAD/hour
* Higher compensation may be considered for highly experienced candidates
* Performance and compensation reviews based on results
