We are a commercial real estate appraisal and property tax consulting firm based in Southern California. Our firm assists property owners with property tax appeals across several counties.
We are seeking a detail-oriented virtual assistant to help research, document, and organize the procedures involved in filing and managing property tax appeals across Southern California counties.
The primary objective of this role is to help create a clear internal “road map” outlining the full lifecycle of a property tax appeal—from initial filing through hearing, decision, and refund issuance.
Responsibilities will include researching county websites, documenting procedures, organizing timelines, and building step-by-step process guides for counties including:
• Los Angeles County
• Orange County
• San Diego County
• Riverside County
• San Bernardino County
• Ventura County
The assistant will help identify and document:
• Filing procedures and deadlines
• Required appeal forms and documentation
• County departments involved in the process
• Hearing procedures and evidence submission requirements
• Appeal timelines and decision processes
• Refund issuance procedures following successful appeals
As these procedures are documented, the assistant may also help track the progress of active appeals by periodically contacting county departments (Assessor, Appeals Board, Auditor-Controller, and Treasurer-Tax Collector) to obtain status updates so we can keep our clients informed.
This position requires strong research skills, attention to detail, and the ability to organize complex processes into clear workflows.
Initial project scope will focus on documenting procedures. Ongoing work may include administrative support and case tracking.
When applying, please briefly describe your experience researching government procedures or documenting step-by-step workflows.
