About the job

Patient Screening VA ensures that patients are thoroughly screened before they are seen by a clinician. The role involves gathering essential patient information, reviewing that information and ensuring that all necessary checks are complete and accurate prior to the patient’s appointment.


Responsibilities

- Review patient RX history and last fill date to ensure compliance with standard refill intervals.
- Confirm that the requested treatment is within our authorized medication guidelines.
- Verify patient location eligibility and coordinate with internal teams to manage referrals for required in-person visits.
- Identify and address instances of duplicate appointments so they can be canceled and to prevent scheduling conflicts.
- Review patient records to identify and resolve duplicate accounts.
- Check for signs of fraud, financial issues, or patients flagged as blacklisted.
- Verify identity documents to maintain record accuracy and prevent medical identity fraud.
- Verify that all required intake forms are fully completed before a patient's appointment.
- Confirm that the appropriate service is selected for each patient based on their medical needs.
- Coordinate with the core internal teams on all issues and conflicts related to the patient's records.
- Upload correct medical fill history of patients in their medical records using approved prescription drug monitoring program portals.
- Collaborate on special projects and developmental initiatives to support the team’s contribution to companywide progress.
- Check patient insurance eligibility to preemptively resolve coverage issues and ensure uninterrupted access to prescribed medications.



Qualifications

- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or administrative role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Google Sheets and related data entry applications.
- Strong knowledge in navigating systems and applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work with a team and has the ability to collaborate with other teams and resolve conflicts.
- Availability to work flexible hours to meet team and patient needs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately collect and document patient information.
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with patients and the healthcare team.
- Ability to work independently, handle sensitive information, and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
