Wordpress Woocommerce Web Developer

**Note: Please do not apply if you do not have at least 5 years of web development experience**

Salary: $975/month - $1050/month (with room to grow based on performance, we pay every week on Fridays)
Hours: 40 hrs/week
Paid Time Off: 8 days per year

--About Us--
We're a medium-sized, friendly marketing and ecommerce team based in the USA. We already work with talented people from the Philippines across design, customer service, and marketing so you'd be joining a supportive remote team that understands how you work. We're looking for an experienced web developer who can lead the migration of one our Shopify stores to WordPress/WooCommerce and become our long-term web person.

--What You'll Do--
- You will work alongside our current Wordpress developer and pair with him to build Wordpress.
- Build a website in WordPress/WooCommerce. The new site should look and feel nearly identical to the current one (same layout, same user experience)
- Replicate our essential Shopify app features. We rely on several apps for shipping, inventory, reviews, upsells, and order management. You'll need to find equivalent WooCommerce plugins or custom-build these features so nothing is lost in the transition
- Optimize site speed & performance: low latency, fast load times, best-practice caching, image optimization, minimal bloat
- Help set up basic on-page SEO: clean URLs, meta tags, schema markup, proper site structure
- Handle post-migration maintenance — keep the site secure, updated, and running smoothly
- Build and maintain landing pages, product pages, and site features as the business grows
- Troubleshoot technical issues — broken integrations, plugin conflicts, slow pages, checkout problems

--Requirements--
Know WordPress, WooCommerce, and PHP well
Understand website performance optimization: caching, CDN, image compression, database optimization, minimizing HTTP requests
Know HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design
Communicate clearly in English

Optional (Not required)
Experience with third-party integrations (payment gateways, shipping APIs, email marketing platforms)
Experience with managed WordPress hosting (WP Engine, Kinsta, or similar)
