JOB OVERVIEW

I'm a leadership development consultant, author, and speaker building a multi-lane brand that includes coaching and L&D services, a growing newsletter and LinkedIn platform, published books, and speaking engagements. I'm looking for a sharp, proactive Virtual Assistant to help me run and grow it all.

This is not an order-taker role. I'm looking for an initiator (someone who sees what needs to happen, asks informed questions, and moves without needing constant oversight).

What You'll Do
Outreach & Growth

• Cold outreach to prospective clients (email and LinkedIn), including list-building, personalized first-touch messages, and follow-up sequences
• Pitch podcasts, media outlets, and event organizers for interviews and speaking opportunities
• Track all outreach and follow-ups in our CRM (GoHighLevel)
• Research Requests for Proposals or applicable activities

Content & Social Media

• Schedule and publish social media content (primarily LinkedIn and Instagram)
• Repurpose newsletter essays and long-form content into social posts
• Format and schedule newsletter issues in Substack
• Light copyediting and proofreading of drafts before they go out

Administrative

Email inbox management and triage
• Calendar management and scheduling
• Google Drive organization and file management
• Speaking engagement logistics: inquiry responses, booking coordination, sending materials, post-event follow-up

Who You Are

• Deeply detail-oriented. Typos, missed steps, and sloppy formatting are dealbreakers in this role.
• A strong writer who can learn and match my voice in outreach messages, captions, and correspondence. A writing sample will be required.
• Proactive and self-directed. You ask for clarity when you're confused, but you also come with informed questions and proposed solutions — not just problems.
• Reliable and ahead of deadlines, with quick turnaround on time-sensitive items.
• Responsive. Replies within 1 hour during the American Central Standard time zone, with flexibility for occasional time-sensitive needs. This excludes known personal time.
• Coachable. You implement feedback quickly and without ego.
• Warm, mannerable, and professional in every interaction — you'll be representing me.
• Discreet. You'll handle sensitive business and client information. An NDA is required.

Tools You Should Know

• Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs)
• LinkedIn and Instagram (organic posting and engagement)
• Substack (or comparable newsletter platform)
• GoHighLevel (or comparable CRM — GHL experience is a strong plus)

Bonus Points For (But not required)

• Graphic design skills (Canva or Adobe)
• Light video editing for Reels/short-form content
• Experience supporting authors, speakers, coaches, or consultants
• Familiarity with faith-based audiences and content

A Note on AI

I'm fine with AI as an assist. I'm not fine with AI as a crutch. If your outreach, captions, and emails read like they came off an assembly line, this won't work. Your judgment, voice, and attention are what I'm hiring.
Details
• Hours: 5-10 hours per week, with room to grow
• Compensation: Starting at $5-6/hour, depending on experience, with a clear growth path, paid as a 1099 independent contractor. Strong performers can expect raises at 6-month reviews as responsibilities and results grow.
• Trial: The role begins with a paid [2–4 week] trial period
• Location: Remote; must have working hours that overlap with Central time
