DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented UI developer to join our startup company based in Toronto, Ontario.
This job posting requires approximately 40 hours every week.
The company develops drone mapping and photogrammetry software and hardware that is aimed to enable thousands of professionals around the world to produce 3D models and maps purely from images.
The company is also developing proprietary autopilot firmware and hardware solution for professional and commercial industry.
You will join the development team that takes care of our flagship product, MAPDESK. You will have the opportunity to work with product owners, UX designers, testers and domain experts to create and improve interfaces designed to be used by a wide client base of professionals such as surveyors, farmers, forensic experts, project managers and more. You will work directly under the CEO who has extensive experience in the UAV industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Design and implement user-centric software interfaces and core components.
Collaborate in the full product life-cycle, from early concepts and prototypes to full deployment.
Engage in the team’s agile process.
High understanding of AWS infrastructure.
Being able to integrate external payment systems such as PayPal in the designed software.
Strong front-end design understanding using native JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, AJAX, and HTML
Understanding of GIS data and best practices at visualizing and manipulating such data.
Understanding of Cesium JS is an asset.
REQUIREMENTS
B.S. or greater in Computer Science or equivalent (programming) degree.
2+ years of professional experience in programming for Windows platform.
Experience with and thorough understanding of C++ and C# programming languages.
Have a good understanding of the Windows DLL infrastructure.
Ability to write clear, maintainable and portable code.
Self-motivated, with strong time management skills and a proven ability to accurately assess time requirements and the complexity of assigned systems.
Have the ability to collaborate as a member of a team and work toward team goals.
Stable internet connectivity with ability to make VoIP calls.
Must have a willingness to learn and lead others.
Great written and spoken English.
Note: We will first provide you with a small C++ job to test your skills. If you are able to do the sample job, you will receive a full time offer. Our working hours are 9:30-5:30 EDT. You don't have to be online the full time but we do need you to be available at least 1-2 hours in common with us so we can communicate. The rest of the time you can do programming during your own day time.

As of 8/7/2017 MAPDESK core/backend is fully functional. As a leading programmer on this project, your job is to design the front end/UI, login/registration/subscription/, data viewing/manipulation/extraction that integrates with external services like AWS S3/EC2 and PayPal.
Due to the startup nature of our company, at start your salary may not reflect appropriate compensation based on your skill-set, but as we commercialize the product, you will undoubtedly see a beyond expected merit increase. Depending on your skillset, your startup salary may reflect payouts of up to $200-$300 CAD per month during the startup phase. As you build the requested software and our investors start realizing your potential, your merit increase could rise up to $1200+ per month by the end of the 12-month mark.
Additional Requirements:
No prepayments. Payments will initially be weekly, starting AFTER the first week, no pre-payments.
