Shopify CRO Developer (Project-Based, Potential Ongoing Work)
We’re a small but growing e-commerce marketing agency working with Shopify brands. We’re looking for a Shopify-focused developer with strong CRO thinking to support client website improvements.
This is not a full-time role to start. We want to find the right person first, then build from there.

We’re not just looking for someone who can “build pages”.
We’re looking for someone who:

• Can explain why a change should be made, not just how
• Is comfortable working inside Shopify’s backend
• Communicates clearly and professionally
?

• Trust elements
• UX flow
• Making backend Shopify edits, including:
• Product setup
• Variants
• SKUs
• Pricing / bundles
• Basic product organisation
• Implementing changes cleanly without breaking existing setups
• Explaining your thinking in a clear, structured way
You do not need to be a designer, but you should understand how design and UX impact conversion.

• Portfolio (if applicable)
• How clearly you communicate
Step 2: CRO Logic Exercise (Unpaid)
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a short CRO reasoning exercise.
This is not real client work and nothing will be used commercially.
You’ll be asked to:
• Review a Shopify product page
• Explain what you would improve
• Explain why those changes matter for conversion
This step is purely to understand how you think.
Step 3: Paid Project
Once we d
• Budget for the first project is around $500 USD
• Scope will be clearly defined upfront
• This will be real client work
If the collaboration goes well, there is strong potential for:
• Additional projects
• Ongoing work
• Longer-term collaboration
?
Who This Role Is Best For
This role is ideal if you:
• Enjoy CRO and problem-solving
• Prefer clear projects over vague hourly work
• Want to build a longer-term working relationship
• Are comfortable working independently and taking ownership
?
How to Apply
Please include:
• A short explanation of your Shopify and CRO experience
• Any relevant examples of past work (if available)
• A brief note on how you typically approach improving conversion on a product page
?
Final note (important tone-setting)
We care far more about how you think and communicate than buzzwords or long CVs.
If you’re thoughtful, organised, and serious about your work, we’d love to hear from you.
