Position Overview
We are urgently seeking a Senior Salesforce Developer to design, develop, and maintain custom solutions on the Salesforce platform. Reporting to the Tech Lead and Tech Director, the successful candidate will serve as the sole dedicated developer on the Salesforce team and will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing support of platform customizations and integrations.

In addition to development responsibilities, this role will provide administrative backup to the Salesforce Administrator, contributing to flow design, reporting, and user management as needed.

The position requires a senior practitioner who can use modern AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity while maintaining the engineering rigor expected of a senior developer. We are looking for a collaborative and curious professional who actively explores emerging technologies and contributes new ideas to the team.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy Salesforce customizations using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and declarative tools.

Architect and implement integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST and SOAP APIs, Named Credentials, and Platform Events.

Develop and maintain automated workflows, including triggers, batch processes, queueable jobs, and asynchronous patterns.

Apply AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, MCP-based agentic workflows) to improve development velocity and code quality.

Provide administrative support to the Salesforce Administrator (approximately 25% of the role), including the configuration of flows, validation rules, reports, dashboards, permission sets, and user management.

Conduct code reviews and contribute to the team's engineering standards, including documentation, testing, and version control practices.

Monitor system performance and proactively address technical debt, governor limit issues, and integration failures.

Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all developed solutions.

Collaborate with the Tech Lead, Tech Director, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 5–8 years of professional Salesforce development experience.

Apex Development: Demonstrated proficiency in Apex, including classes, triggers, batch and queueable processing, asynchronous patterns, and governor limit management.

Lightning Web Components: Production experience designing and deploying LWCs.

Query Languages: Strong command of SOQL and SOSL, including query optimization.

Integrations: Hands-on experience implementing integrations using REST and SOAP APIs, Named Credentials, Platform Events, and webhooks, with appropriate error handling and retry strategies.

Certifications: Salesforce Platform Developer I certification required; Platform Developer II strongly preferred.

AI-Assisted Development: Demonstrated, hands-on experience with AI development tools, including Claude Code, Codex (or comparable OpenAI tooling), and MCP servers or agentic workflows.

Prompt Engineering: Working knowledge of prompt engineering principles, with the ability to evaluate and refine model outputs.

Engineering Discipline: A proven track record of writing tested, maintainable, production-grade code. The candidate must be capable of independently evaluating AI-generated code rather than deploying it without review.

Adaptability: A demonstrated history of proactively learning and adopting emerging technologies and development practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Litify or other vertical SaaS platforms.

Experience designing or contributing to MCP servers.

Proficiency with Salesforce DX, source-driven development, and CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce orgs.

Experience working in embedded or co-managed engagements with non-technical stakeholders.

Approach to AI-Assisted Development

We view AI development tools as a productivity multiplier for skilled engineers, not a substitute for engineering judgment. The successful candidate will use these tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining accountability for the quality, security, and correctness of all code that reaches production.

Candidates whose practice depends on accepting AI-generated output without independent review are not a fit for this position.

Performance Expectations (First Six Months)

Independently deliver a production feature from discovery through deployment.

Develop at least one reusable AI- or agent-driven workflow adopted by the broader team.

Assume end-to-end ownership of one to two integrations, including design, implementation, monitoring, and operational documentation.

Application Instructions

Interested candidates should submit a resume, a link to a code portfolio or GitHub profile, and a brief written response describing a project they have completed using an AI coding assistant/agent - including the approach taken, the outcome, and any lessons learned.
