Senior Backend and DevOps Developer

We’re seeking a Senior Backend & DevOps Developer to join our remote-first team as an independent contractor. Buink is a cutting-edge dev shop that thrives on clean, scalable code and modern infrastructure. In this role, you’ll architect and implement robust backend systems and DevOps pipelines for a variety of clients across industries. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring our applications are secure and deployable with confidence.

You’ll collaborate closely with frontend developers, designers, and other engineers to build seamless, scalable systems. The work is dynamic, and you’ll tackle complex challenges using modern backend frameworks and cloud-native tooling.

Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs that power web and mobile applications.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning.
Optimize backend systems for performance, reliability, and security.
Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless integration and data flow.
Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to other developers.
Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, ensuring high availability and rapid incident response.
Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy across projects.
Document systems and processes to support maintainability and team knowledge sharing.
Developer requirements and qualifications:
Proven track record as a Back-end Developer or similar role
Expert-level experience with backend development in Node.js, PHP, or Python.
Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
Proven experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Deep familiarity with cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code tools.
Solid grasp of software engineering principles, including OOP and design patterns.
Proficiency in Git and collaborative development workflows.
Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced remote environment.
