FULL-TIME SALES DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE (SDR)
B2B COLD CALLING & APPOINTMENT SETTING
ABOUT MARGINX
MarginX is a restaurant profitability and operations software platform built for restaurant owners and operators.
Our platform helps restaurants identify and control profit leaks across food costs, labour costs, inventory, purchasing, recipes, waste, vendor pricing, operational processes, and overall profitability.
We are hiring an experienced Sales Development Representative to contact restaurant owners and decision-makers across Canada and the United States, conduct brief discovery conversations, qualify prospective clients, and book product demonstrations for the MarginX sales team.
This is a full-time, remote, outbound cold-calling position.
The primary responsibility of this role is not customer service or administrative support. The selected candidate will be responsible for speaking directly with business owners, creating interest in MarginX, identifying operational challenges, handling objections, and booking qualified product demonstrations.
Prospect lists will be provided. The SDR’s primary responsibility will be calling, qualification, follow-up, and appointment setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Make a high volume of outbound calls to restaurant owners, franchisees, operators, general managers, and other decision-makers.
• Introduce MarginX clearly, confidently, and professionally.
• Explain how MarginX helps restaurants improve profitability and gain better control over food costs, labour costs, inventory, purchasing, recipes, waste, and operational performance.
• Speak directly with business owners and identify whether the restaurant is a suitable potential customer for MarginX.
• Conduct brief discovery conversations to understand the prospect’s current challenges.
• Ask relevant questions about the restaurant’s locations, operations, food costs, labour costs, inventory, waste, purchasing, profitability, and current systems.
• Identify pain points and connect those problems to the appropriate MarginX capabilities.
• Qualify prospects based on business type, number of locations, operational needs, decision-making authority, interest, and suitability.
• Book qualified product demonstrations with restaurant owners and relevant decision-makers.
• Clearly explain what the prospect can expect during the product demonstration.
• Confirm the prospect’s name, business name, contact details, number of restaurant locations, appointment date, appointment time, and relevant discovery information.
• Follow up with interested prospects who are not ready to book immediately.
• Confirm upcoming demonstrations and help reduce cancellations and no-shows.
• Reschedule qualified prospects who miss or postpone their demonstrations.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of every call, conversation, objection, follow-up, and appointment in the company CRM.
• Provide detailed discovery notes to the sales representative conducting the demonstration.
• Follow company-approved scripts, qualification criteria, call processes, and CRM procedures.
• Participate in sales training, role-playing exercises, call reviews, coaching sessions, and performance meetings.
• Consistently work toward agreed calling, conversation, qualification, appointment-booking, and attendance targets.
