PURCHASING SUPERVISOR

Job Description
• Identify and source new suppliers and vendors
• Manage vendor and supplier selection process based on price, quality, support, capacity and reliability
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors
• Establish and update an approved vendor/supplier database
• Measure and manage the vendor and supplier cost, quality and delivery performance
• Oversee supplier compliance with internal quality standards and external regulations
• Troubleshoot cost, quality and delivery concerns
• Facilitate timely placement of purchase orders
• Develop and manage purchasing budgets and forecasts
• Monitor and reduce purchase variances to meet profit objectives
• Produce regular reports, oversee the operations and daily activities of the purchasing department
• Direct continuous improvement of purchasing processes in line with changing organizational needs and market conditions
• Establish and implement purchasing policies, procedures and best practices
Requirements
• High school diploma; BSBA in business administration or relevant field will be considered a plus
• Proven experience as a retail buyer or relevant role
• Experience as purchaser for supermarkets, grocery is an advantage
• Outstanding communication abilities
• Demonstrable aptitude in effective negotiating
• Up to speed with purchasing best practices
• Familiarity with market research, data analysis and forecasting techniques
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of purchasing software is an advantage
• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet assigned deadlines
• Positive attitude towards work
• Exceptional attention to details and accuracy in figures;
• Willing to work in Makati
