PHP/MySQL Programmer (2–3 Years’ Experience)

We are looking for a motivated PHP/MySQL Developer with 2–3 years of hands-on experience to join our team. The role focuses on building, maintaining, and optimising APIs, as well as supporting our in-house platform, which is structured in a modular way similar to Laravel. You’ll also contribute to a variety of other projects, including working with JSON-based APIs and Vue.js front-end components, to deliver secure, efficient, and scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using PHP, MySQL, and JSON
• Maintain and enhance our in-house modular platform (Laravel-like structure)
• Integrate and work with Vue.js front-end components
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code to latest PHP version
• Optimise database queries and schema for performance and scalability
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
• Collaborate with tea ---------- mbers on requirements and technical design
• Ensure best practices in security, testing, and deployment
• Contribute to additional in-house and client projects as required
Requirements
• 2–3 years of professional PHP development experience
• Strong experience with MySQL (queries, joins, optimisation)
• Experience with JSON for API data handling
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and integration
• Good working knowledge of Git (branching, merging, pull requests, conflict resolution)
• Experience with Vue.js (or similar JavaScript frameworks)
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
Nice to Have
• Experience with Laravel or other PHP frameworks
• Knowledge of API authentication (OAuth)
• Exposure to cloud hosting (AWS, DigitalOcean, etc.)

Wage: AUD $800 (equivalent in PHP)

Hours: 24 per week

Would need to work Monday to Wednesday in AU time
