Nephrology Billing and Coding Coordinator

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Nephrology Billing and Coding Coordinator to join our growing team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate coding, timely claim submission, denial resolution, and compliance with payer and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in nephrology billing and coding and is committed to maintaining accuracy while maximizing reimbursement.

Please note: Prior experience in nephrology billing and coding is required. Applications without nephrology-specific experience will not be considered.

What You'll Do:
1. Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for nephrology services.
2. Review and submit insurance claims in a timely manner.
3. Investigate and resolve claim denials and payment discrepancies.
4. Verify documentation supports coded services and complies with payer guidelines.
5. Work closely with providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation.
6. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims.
7. Maintain compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer, and HIPAA requirements.
8. Stay current on coding updates and nephrology billing regulations.

Who We're Looking For:
1. Required: Proven experience in nephrology billing and coding.
2. Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding for nephrology services.
3. Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing.
4. Familiarity with claim submission, denial management, and accounts receivable follow-up.
5. CPC, CCS-P, CPB, or a related coding certification is preferred.
6. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical abilities.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines.
