JOB OVERVIEW

We’re currently hiring a Lead Developer (Solution Architect) to join our team at C9, an Australian-based software development company. In this role, you will work closely with our development team to design and lead the implementation of scalable, high-quality software solutions across a variety of client projects.
We are looking for a seasoned Lead Developer with Solution Architecture expertise to design, develop, and deliver robust, maintainable systems. In this dual role, you’ll lead by example—shaping system architecture, mentoring development teams, and transforming complex business requirements into impactful technical solutions.

What You'll Do
• Collaborate independently with stakeholders—including business managers, product owners, and clients—to analyze requirements and architect enterprise-grade solutions aligned with strategic goals.
• Design and architect end-to-end technical solutions, defining system structure, data flow, integration points, and scalability considerations.
• Lead the full software development lifecycle, from planning and design through implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Write and review clean, efficient, and maintainable code, adhering to architectural standards and best practices.
• Mentor and guide development teams, upholding coding standards, engineering best practices, and QA processes.
• Own and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for systems, APIs, and infrastructure.
• Conduct architecture and code reviews to drive continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Evaluate and adopt modern technologies, frameworks, and tools to ensure a current, efficient tech stack.
• Lead estimation processes, monitor progress, and drive process improvements.
• Serve as a technical authority and set direction across teams and projects.
• Make informed project decisions in collaboration with project coordinators, grounded in strong technical understanding.
• Conduct technical interviews and assess candidates for development roles.
• Drive strategic technical initiatives, including the creation of SOPs and internal improvement programs.
• Perform performance evaluations focused on technical growth and effectiveness of tea ---------- mbers.
• Promote and champion the integration of AI tools and practices to improve efficiency and innovation across the development process.
• Balance multiple projects simultaneously, acting as a technical driver in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Who You Are
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong full-stack development skills.
• 6+ years in a leadership or solution architecture role, with a proven track record delivering complex software solutions and leading teams.
• Demonstrated expertise in:
o C# / .NET web applications and enterprise-grade systems
o Designing scalable, maintainable system and solution architectures
o Design patterns and architecture methodologies (e.g., MVC, MVVM, microservices, domain-driven design)
o SQL and relational database design
o Modern frontend frameworks (preferably React)
o CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation
o Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or equivalent)—certifications are a plus
• Proficient in project and task management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello).
• Hands-on coder with a commitment to delivering working software and successful project outcomes.
• Strong communication skills—fluent in English and capable of explaining complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Analytical and strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Skilled in stakeholder management, bridging business needs with technical solutions.
• Available to work during Australian business hours (8:45 AM – 6:00 PM AEST), including Australian public holidays.
