Laravel, Node.js & Shopify Developer (DevOps)

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Laravel, Node.js and Shopify Developer with strong DevOps expertise to join a growing ecommerce business. This is a hands-on technical role where you will lead the development of custom applications, integrations and infrastructure across a modern composable commerce platform.

You will be responsible for developing custom modules within UnoPim, building Shopify applications and theme functionality, creating integrations with multiple third party platforms, and maintaining cloud infrastructure running on DigitalOcean using Docker.

This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, designing scalable systems, and working across the full development lifecycle.

This role is expected to be full time for the first 3 to 6 months while major platform development is underway. As the project matures, there is potential for the role to transition to part time, although the structure remains flexible depending on the successful candidate and business requirements.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop and maintain custom Laravel applications and UnoPim modules.
Build and maintain Node.js services and APIs.
Develop and enhance Shopify Plus themes, custom apps, checkout extensions, Shopify Functions and Liquid components.
Extend and maintain UnoPim connectors for Shopify and other ecommerce sales channels.
Develop new integrations with Google Merchant Center, Meta, TikTok Shop, Shopify Markets and marketplace platforms.
Build custom Product Lifecycle Management, Pricing Engine, Procurement and Barcode Generator modules within UnoPim.
Design and maintain REST APIs following UnoPim architecture and best practices.
Build and maintain workflow automations using n8n.
Manage Docker based applications hosted on DigitalOcean VPS environments.
Configure, monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure, backups, deployments and server security.
Optimise application performance, scalability and reliability.
Troubleshoot production issues across multiple interconnected systems.
Collaborate with stakeholders to design technical solutions for evolving business requirements.
Maintain documentation for architecture, deployment processes and integrations.
Keep all applications and infrastructure up to date with platform and security


Requirements:
5+ years of professional experience with Laravel development.
Strong commercial experience with Node.js.
Advanced Shopify development experience, including Shopify Plus.
Experience building Shopify Apps, Checkout Extensions, Shopify Functions and Liquid themes.
Strong understanding of REST API development and system integrations.
Experience working with Docker containers and Docker Compose.
Experience managing Linux based cloud servers.
Experience with DigitalOcean or similar cloud platforms.
Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, deployments and infrastructure management.
Experience working with Git and collaborative development workflows.
Strong experience with SQL databases, including MySQL and PostgreSQL.
Experience working with Tailwind CSS.
Experience with Redis.
Experience designing scalable and maintainable software architecture.
Excellent debugging, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
