Full-Time PHP Developer (Remote)

Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Full-Time PHP Developer to help develop, maintain, and optimize our web applications. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working with both modern PHP frameworks and raw PHP, has strong database experience, and enjoys building scalable, production-ready systems.
You will work closely with our development team to create reliable features, improve performance, and contribute to the overall architecture of the platform.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and optimize high-performance web applications using PHP 8+.
Build and maintain applications using raw PHP as well as framework-based environments when needed.
Design, write, and optimize complex queries using MySQL or MariaDB.
Integrate front-end components with server-side logic.
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
Manage project dependencies using Composer.
Participate in code reviews and maintain clean, organized, and well-documented code.
Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and web development best practices.

Required Qualifications
Available to work 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST with a 1-hour unpaid break.
Comfortable using Worksnaps during working hours.
Strong hands-on experience with PHP 7.4+ (PHP 8+ preferred).
Ability to build and maintain applications using raw PHP without a framework.
Proficient in MySQL or MariaDB and SQL query optimization.
Solid understanding of JavaScript and jQuery.
Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
Experience working with APIs, integrations, and web services.

Required Tools
PHP IDE (PhpStorm, VS Code, or equivalent)
phpMyAdmin

Preferred Skills
Advanced experience with Composer.
Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration.
Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
Exposure to Docker or containerization workflows.
Understanding of web security best practices.
Experience with AWS services and deployment environments.
