Full Stack Shopify Expert

Job Description:
We are looking for a Full Stack Shopify Expert to join our Australian based team for a contract or gig-based project. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for building and maintaining custom Shopify stores, developing Shopify apps, and integrating third-party tools to create seamless and highly functional e-commerce experiences. This is a project-based position with the opportunity for a full-time role depending on your performance and the successful completion of the project.

Key Responsibilities:
Custom Shopify Theme Development:
Design and implement custom themes that align with brand guidelines and provide an optimal user experience.
Develop responsive, mobile-first Shopify themes using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Shopify Liquid.
Optimize Shopify stores for speed, performance, and SEO.

Shopify App Development & Integration:
Build and maintain custom Shopify apps to extend store functionality, including integrations with third-party APIs.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to app development and Shopify integrations.
Collaborate with internal teams to integrate tools that enhance store performance.

Continuous Improvement & Testing:
Continuously monitor and improve website performance, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.
Perform rigorous testing and debugging to ensure a seamless user experience across all devices and browsers.
Stay updated on the latest Shopify features, tools, and technologies to ensure the team is using best practices and maximizing platform capabilities.

Qualifications:
Proven experience developing and customizing Shopify stores and apps.
Strong expertise in Shopify’s Liquid templating language, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
Experience with Shopify’s RESTful API, GraphQL, and webhooks.
Solid knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern JS frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular).
Proficiency in back-end development technologies like Node.js, Ruby on Rails, or PHP.
Familiarity with version control tools like Git and workflow tools like Jira or Trello.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Understanding of e-commerce best practices, including SEO, conversion rate optimization, and UX design principles.

Preferred Skills:
Experience with Shopify Plus and headless commerce.
Knowledge of payment gateway integration and security best practices.
Familiarity with cloud-based development and deployment tools (e.g., AWS, Heroku).
Previous experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices.
