ProTech CDS (Fire Pro LLC) is a national fire protection design and engineering firm based in Meridian, Idaho. We serve fire protection contractors, MEP firms, and architects across all 50 states. Our team is fully remote and systems-driven — we build smart processes so the work scales without constant overhead.
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable full-stack developer to own our technical infrastructure. This includes our client portal ( ---------- ), backend API ( ---------- ), AWS environment, Zoho Books and Zoho Mail administration, third-party integrations, and a new standalone SaaS platform we are building for the fire protection industry.
The developer who built our current stack is transitioning out. You will go through a structured handoff with them during your first 4 weeks, then own everything independently. A year from now, you will know our stack cold and be the technical person we count on — not chase.
What You'll Own
Portal & Backend
• Maintain and extend the client portal backend (Node.js/Express on AWS)
• Build and deploy new API endpoints for portal features, AI tools, and automations
• Monitor AWS uptime, SES email delivery, and error logs
• Manage deployments and keep the stack current and secure
Zoho Administration
• Zoho Books — invoice templates, ZohoPay configuration, API integration, general admin
• Zoho Mail — email aliases, DNS records (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), routing rules, troubleshooting
• Zoho developer console — OAuth clients, connected apps
Integrations
• AWS SES — transactional email templates, delivery monitoring, bounce handling
• Anthropic API — AI tool proxy, prompt integrations for portal features
• ---------- and Instantly — webhook automations for lead generation
• Stacker/Outportal — API connections between portal frontend and backend
• SoWork — API integration as team transitions to virtual office platform
• ZohoPay — payment webhooks and upfront payment flows
SaaS Platform Build
• Primary developer on a new standalone SaaS platform for fire protection AI tools
• Tools include: AHJ Code Report, Spec Writer, Voltage Drop Calculator, BOM/Takeoff, and more
• Greenfield build — you will have meaningful input on architecture decisions
What We're Looking For
Required
• Node.js and Express — comfortable building and maintaining REST APIs
• AWS — EC2, SES, S3, CloudWatch
• React and TypeScript — able to work on frontend when needed
• MySQL or PostgreSQL — comfortable with schema design and queries
• Zoho Books and/or Zoho Mail administration experience
• Strong written English — this is a fully async role
• Self-directed — you manage your own task queue without being micromanaged
Preferred
• Experience with Zoho API (OAuth, Books API, Mail admin)
• Experience with Stacker, Airtable, or similar low-code platforms
• Webhook architecture and event-driven integration patterns
• Basic DevOps — deployments, environment configs, server management
• Experience integrating Anthropic or OpenAI APIs

This role requires reliability above all else. If you tend to say you'll finish something tomorrow and then need three more days, this is not the right fit. We work async, we trust our team, and we need people who honor their commitments or communicate early when they can't. If something will be late, we need to know the day before — not the day after.
Compensation & Setup
?90,000–?110,000/month depending on experience. Full-time salaried position employed through Smart Outsourcing Solutions (our Philippine EOR). Remote — work from anywhere in the Philippines. Observes US holidays and company rest days.
