Full Stack Developer

Aldebaran TC is looking for a Full-Stack Developer (Automation & Systems) to support our internal tools, automation workflows, and existing web platform.



This role is primarily focused on Python-based development and automation, with additional exposure to full-stack development, databases, and systems support. While the core of the role is development, you’ll also handle occasional cross-functional technical tasks (data, systems, and internal support) to keep operations running smoothly. You will work closely with the Technology Manager on technical initiatives, while contributing across multiple areas of the stack.

The Role:

Develop and maintain in-house automation scripts using Python
Build tools, scripts, and API/webhook integrations to support business workflows and client requirements
Work on our existing internal web platform (Django + React + PostgreSQL) by handling minor fixes, incremental improvements, and simple feature enhancements
Test, troubleshoot and resolve issues across applications, automations, and related systems to ensure reliability and correctness
Write and execute SQL queries for reporting, data extraction, and automation tasks
Work with geospatial data files (KML), including creating/editing files (e.g., via Google Earth) and preparing them for compatibility with our web platform
Occasionally, work on Power BI dashboards in response to specific client requests
Occasionally, research and evaluate new tech/approaches to improve internal workflows and solutions
Provide support for internal systems, database-related tasks, and IT issues as part of specific workflows (e.g., basic environment issues, user support, or system checks)


Core Focus Areas

This role is primarily focused on:

? Primary Focus (65–75%): Development — automation, scripting, integrations, and light full-stack work

? Secondary Focus (25–35%): Systems administration, database querying/operational support, light geospatial/KML data handling, occasional research/evaluation of internal tools/solutions, and internal IT support



What We’re Looking For:

? 3–6 years of experience in software development

? Strong proficiency in Python (automation and backend development)

? Solid experience with SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)

? Experience working with structured data (JSON, XML, YAML) and third-party APIs and webhooks

? Ability to troubleshoot across application, database, and system layers

? Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment



Nice to Have

? Experience with React and TypeScript

? Familiarity with Django or similar backend frameworks

? Experience working on or contributing to existing full-stack web applications

? Basic systems administration knowledge (Windows/Linux environments)

? Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) or DevOps practices

? Familiarity with Power BI or similar data visualization / BI tools

? Familiarity with geospatial data formats (e.g., KML) or XML-based file structures
