Frontend React Engineer - updates to reserved seating functionality at UpStage Technologies

We're looking for a front-end engineer with experience building complex and highly-interactive designs associated with arts and culture venue seating maps in a responsive web app.

We have an excellent platform in place now but would like to refine the end user UI and develop a process that makes ongoing seat map creation as efficient as possible for the full-time engineering team.

Closely connected with the frontend work is the bakend admin panel UI where clients set up pricing zones for reserved seating via the same seating maps that are used for the frontend.

The goal is to develop a collection of reusable components, maximize the potential for condensing as much of the event and seating data as possible in a single data store where the components pull data from that store, and create an end-user UI that is intuitive.

The updated UI will provide a smoother way for patrons to move from section to map view regardless of whether if the venue has a single or multi-tier seating areas. Additional improvements include improved consistency in micro animations across media queries, and to up the overall beautiful game of the ticket buying process (both single and ticket packages).

REQUIREMENTS
• Implementing UI using the React Material UI framework, both components and styling.
• Writing Lambda functions in NodeJS.
• Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
• Fluency in best practices for HTML5, CSS and Javascript framework / libraries.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience developing/implementing CSS animations driven by window events and user interactions.
• Redux & React Context API as State Manager.
• Good grasp of cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Knowledgeable in performance optimization techniques.
• A sense of pride in building clean UIs that users enjoy interacting with and engineers enjoy maintaining.

SKILLS, bonus, but not required:
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 guidelines, or the ability to quickly learn and integrate, with practical accessibility testing experience.

BUDGET
Given the specialized nature of the budget, we fully understand that it's not realistic to slap a price on the work until you've had a chance to learn more. As such, we're willing to negotiate a project price based on where the final scope and deliverables land.

Specifically moving from the section based overview to individual seat view, where the former becomes a location map. That, combined with overall stability and speed improvements, are the core of this project and converting over to using an svg driven UI. The winning candidate would work with the existing software engineer team that built the current seating map to make sure the solution is effective when it comes to ongoing seat map creation and lack of tech debt. They will also be the team to build new maps on the enhanced system.
