Finance controller

Byrdson Services, LLC has been in the construction industry for more than 16 years, specializing in residential renovation, reconstruction, and mitigation work. As a project-driven company, strong financial leadership is critical to supporting accurate job costing, cash flow management, budgeting, compliance, and strategic decision-making.

Role Overview
The Finance Controller will oversee the company’s financial operations, including accounting controls, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. This role will partner with leadership to improve financial visibility, strengthen internal processes, and support the company’s long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger oversight, reconciliations, AP/AR, and month-end close.

Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses to leadership.

Manage cash flow, expense controls, and working capital planning.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal policies.

Oversee job costing and project-level financial tracking for construction operations.

Support audit preparation, documentation, and financial process improvements.

Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to improve profitability and efficiency.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

QBO expert

6+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in construction or project-based industries.

Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.

Experience with job costing, project accounting, and cash flow management.

Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.

Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.

CPA is preferred but not required.
