KFM Welding & Engineering is an Australian steel fabrication and engineering business. We design and fabricate structural steel components, sheds, custom engineered parts, and heavy engineering solutions for clients across Australia.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced drafter to join our team remotely. You will work directly with our engineers and project managers across a range of drawing and modelling tasks — from structural steel fabrication drawings through to detailed component drawings and 3D modelling.
What You Will Do
Produce detailed workshop and fabrication drawings from engineer sketches or markups
Draw structural steel components, connections, and assemblies
Create detailed component and part drawings for custom fabricated items
Produce 3D models and assemblies using Fusion 360 or SolidWorks
Prepare drawings to Australian standards (AS/NZS)
Make revisions based on feedback quickly and accurately
Manage drawing registers and file naming conventions
What We Need
Minimum 3 years experience in structural steel, fabrication, or mechanical drafting
Proficient in AutoCAD (essential)
Experience with Fusion 360 and/or SolidWorks for 3D modelling and component drawings (strong advantage)
Experience producing shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and detailed part drawings
Familiarity with Australian or international steel and engineering standards
Able to work across multiple drawing types depending on workload
Strong English communication skills
Reliable fast internet, own computer, and quiet workspace
