ABOUT US
Our team at Energi Core runs production blockchain infrastructure on AWS -EKS (Kubernetes), RDS databases, EC2 instances, RPC nodes, and indexers, across both mainnet and testnet environments. Our senior DevOps is excellent but overloaded. We need a blockchain-native engineer on standby to handle routine operations, catch problems early, and keep everything healthy.
We are past our build phase. We are not hiring someone to architect or refactor. We are hiring someone to WATCH, MAINTAIN, and FLAG.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Monitor RPC node health: sync status, peer count, block lag, reorg frequency
- Monitor indexer health: subgraph lag, indexing errors, data drift
- Watch RDS database pressure: CPU, connections, storage
- Monitor EKS pods, nodes, and load balancers across mainnet and testnet
- Triage alerts with blockchain-aware judgment (mainnet first)
- Run weekly cleanup: unattached EBS volumes, orphaned IPs, old snapshots, stale container images, old CloudWatch logs
- Enforce tagging, access control, and documentation standards
- Produce weekly and monthly infrastructure health reports
- Handle user onboarding and offboarding across GitLab, VPN, and AWS SSO
- Escalate production-critical or architectural issues to Senior DevOps with chain-aware context
WHAT YOU WILL NOT DO
- No mainnet deploys, rollbacks, or architecture changes
- No validator key or signer operations
- No VPC, networking, or security group changes
- No IAM policy design
- No database migrations or schema changes
- No Terraform or Infrastructure-as-Code changes
- No mainnet i
- Nothing that touches wallets, trading paths, or revenue systems
HARD REQUIREMENTS (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
We have learned the hard way that generic DevOps does not work for blockchain. If you do not have ALL of the following, please do not apply:
1. Minimum 2 years of hands-on production blockchain infrastructure experience at a crypto or Web3 company (not a hobby, not a bootcamp, not a side project)
2. Proven experience operating full nodes or RPC nodes in production -Geth, Erigon, Nethermind, Reth, or equivalent
3. Proven experience running indexers or subgraphs in production -The Graph, Subsquid, Ponder, or custom-built
4. Hands-on Kubernetes / EKS experience running stateful chain workloads
5. Strong AWS fluency -EC2, EBS, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, Cost Explorer (console AND CLI)
6. kubectl fluency -get pods, describe, logs, top, delete, exec
7. Dashboard literacy -CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus
8. Discipline to respond within 24 hours, every single time, without fail
9. Genuine comfort being paid 50% ETH and 50% GMI vested over 18 months
NICE TO HAVE (BONUS)
- Experience with EVM chains (Ethereum, Polygon, BSC, Arbitrum, Base, etc.)
- Validator operations or staking infrastructure exposure
- MEV infrastructure or block-building familiarity
- Helm, Karpenter, or Terraform (read-only is fine)
- Prior on-call rotations on blockchain infrastructure
