Dashboard Builder

The Dashboard Builder is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reporting dashboards in Power BI and Looker Studio that turn raw data into clear, actionable insights. This role focuses on data transformation, visualization best practices, and reliable, automated reporting that supports strategic decision-making across the organization. This is a full-time, 8-hour daily shift position engaged as a contract role for an initial 6-month term.

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
• Building clean, accurate, and visually clear dashboards in Power BI and Looker Studio that stakeholders trust and use daily.
• Transforming raw, messy data from multiple sources into structured, reliable datasets ready for reporting.
Delivering dashboards on time that reduce manual reporting work and improve decision-making speed across teams.

OBJECTIVES
• Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards primarily in Power BI and Looker Studio, with the ability to work across other BI tools as needed.
• Perform data transformation and cleaning (ETL) to prepare raw data from multiple sources for accurate reporting.
• Build and maintain reliable data connections, data models, and scheduled refreshes/automations to keep dashboards current.
• Ensure data accuracy, visual clarity, and usability across all dashboards and reports.
• Apply data visualization best practices (layout, chart selection, color, hierarchy) to make insights easy to understand at a glance.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Revenue Operations teams to gather reporting requirements and translate them into functional dashboards.
• Troubleshoot data discrepancies and dashboard errors, identifying root causes in the underlying data or logic.
• Continuously improve existing dashboards and reporting structures as business needs evolve.
• Document dashboard logic, data sources, and definitions so reporting remains sustainable and easy to hand off.

COMPETENCIES
• Strong, hands-on proficiency in Power BI (DAX, data modeling, Power Query) and Looker Studio.
• Solid experience with data transformation and data cleaning from multiple, sometimes inconsistent, data sources.
• Working knowledge of SQL or similar query languages is a plus.
• Strong eye for visual design and dashboard usability; able to turn complex data into simple, digestible visuals.
• Understanding of KPI tracking, data modeling concepts, and reporting automation.
• Familiarity with connecting BI tools to common data sources (spreadsheets, CRMs, marketing platforms, databases).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple dashboard projects and deadlines independently.
• A growth mindset with a willingness to learn new tools and reporting techniques.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• 1-3+ years of experience building dashboards and reports in a data, analytics, or BI role.
• Hands-on, demonstrable experience building dashboards in both Power BI and Looker Studio (required).
• Experience with data transformation/ETL processes; experience with SQL, Excel/Google Sheets formulas, or scripting (e.g., Python) is a plus.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
• Schedule: 8-hour shift, daily (Monday-Friday).
• Contract term: 6-month contract engagement, with possibility of extension based on performance and business need.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and computer.
