Job Description

We are looking for an Android developer responsible for the development and maintenance of our Android mobile app. Your responsibility will be to maintain and update the Android app with new features, working in conjunction with the executive team to determine new releases and direction of the app. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of quality products is essential.

This position is 100% remote. The candidate would ideally be able to work from 9AM to 6PM PST. However, if these hours do not work, they must be able to work from 3PM to 11PM PST.

Responsibilities

- Maintain and build new features for the Android platform using Kotlin
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications across different devices
- Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

Skills
- Proficient with Kotlin, Websockets, Room Persistence and Dependency Injection
- Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
- Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
- Understanding of Google’s best practices for design principles and interface guidelines
- Knowledge of low-level C-based libraries is preferred
- Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications such as Firebase and Fabric
- Knack for benchmarking and optimization
- Experience with GraphQL with subscriptions on client side
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
- Familiarity with continuous integration
- Experience with contributing to open source projects
- Experience in game design is a major bonus
- Experience with unit testing is a major bonus
- Experience with ConstraintLayout

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science
- Minimum 3 to 5 years developing native Android apps
