We are looking for a Floating Layered Card Video Editor who can create fast-paced, visually rich explainer videos using the specific layered card style seen in the example videos below.
DO NOT APPLY if you cannot replicate this exact style. Please watch the examples before applying.
Example Videos (study these before applying):
What This Style Is:
This is NOT traditional editing. It is a specific visual format where:
-Floating rounded-card visuals — images, video clips, and diagrams appear as layered, rounded-corner cards over a clean neutral background (not raw fullscreen footage)
-Multiple assets on screen simultaneously — diagrams, real photos, and footage are composed together in the same frame, not shown one at a time
-Kinetic on-screen text — subtitles and key points are styled as bold caption overlays, timed to the voiceover
-Clean, smooth transitions — card entries, exits, and scene changes must feel polished and intentional. Choppy or jarring cuts will kill viewer retention and are not acceptable
-Fast but controlled pacing — cuts every 2–4 seconds, always serving the narration. No dead air, no slow sections
-Sound design — subtle whooshes, pops, and background music that complement the visuals without overpowering the voiceover
What You Will Do
-Follow the Script: We provide the script, voiceover, and creative direction
-Source Real Visuals: Find real photos, footage, diagrams, and stock visuals that match the content. No random filler stock footage.
-Compose the Layered Scene: Build each scene using the floating card format — layering assets thoughtfully so the frame always looks intentional and clean
-Keep Retention: You must understand pacing and viewer psychology. Every second must earn its place. If it's boring, cut it.
-Music & Sound FX: Select background music that fits the tone and use sound effects to make card transitions feel satisfying and smooth
Requirements:
-Strong portfolio showing the floating layered card style specifically — general editing reels will not be considered
-Able to deliver 3 videos per week
-Works independently once workflow is established
-Communicates clearly and meets deadlines
Pay
$15–$20 per video depending on complexity and quality. Room to grow for the right editor. BONUS & INCENTIVES for the right editor.
How To Apply:
-Start your message with the word FLOAT & (your name)
-Send 1 video you edited that matches the floating layered card style.
-Please expect a 1–2 minute sample test (script and voiceover provided)
