JOB OVERVIEW

WordPress / Elementor Developer — Project Work Leading to Ongoing Role

A software consultancy based in Brisbane, Australia (AEST / UTC+10:00) is looking for a WordPress / Elementor developer to help finish a current client project, then tackle a backlog of work across other sites.

If we work well together, there's ongoing ad hoc work available afterwards. We're not promising anything long-term upfront — but we are hoping to find someone we can keep coming back to.

How This Works

1. First up: Help us finish a client website project (~1–2 weeks of work). Content implementation, UI alignment, and getting pages polished and live.
2. Next: Clear a backlog of updates, tweaks, and fixes across other client websites.
3. Going forward: If we're a good fit for each other, there's regular ad-hoc and project-based work as it comes in.

We want to see how we work together before committing to anything bigger — and we'd expect you to feel the same way.

What You'll Be Doing

• Taking finalised content from Word documents and implementing it into WordPress/Elementor pages — applying proper heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3) for SEO and styling, formatting text, and structuring the page layout
• Adding, positioning, and styling images and video content within pages
• Creating simple new pages from scratch or by duplicating and modifying existing pages and templates
• Ensuring a consistent look and feel across the entire site — spacing, fonts, colours, layout, and overall visual alignment
• Making sure every page is fully responsive and looks great on mobile, tablet, and desktop
• Adding products, services, and other repeatable content entries
• UI adjustments and layout tweaks using Elementor Pro
• Setting up and maintaining contact forms, enquiry forms, and form submission workflows
• Basic front-end website maintenance (plugin updates, content edits, minor bug fixes)
• Image optimisation, resizing, and placement
• Basic on-page SEO housekeeping (heading structure, meta descriptions, alt tags)

Skills & Experience Required

• Intermediate to advanced WordPress experience (2+ years)
• Strong Elementor Pro skills — comfortable with Theme Builder, global widgets, templates, and dynamic content
• Ability to take loosely formatted Word documents and implement them as properly structured, well-styled web pages
• Strong understanding of heading hierarchy and semantic structure for SEO
• Solid understanding of HTML and CSS (able to write custom CSS for styling tweaks)
• Experience working with images and video — placement, sizing, aspect ratios, and embedding
• Good eye for design, spacing, typography, and visual consistency across an entire site
• Strong responsive design skills — ensuring pages work perfectly across mobile, tablet, and desktop
• Experience with popular form plugins (WPForms, Gravity Forms, Contact Form 7, or similar)
• Reliable internet connection and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong written and spoken English (C1/C2 level) — clear communication is essential

Nice to Have

• Experience with WooCommerce or product catalogues
• Familiarity with caching plugins (WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache)
• Basic understanding of Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager
• Experience with Figma or Adobe XD (for interpreting design files)
• Knowledge of WordPress security best practices (Wordfence, etc.)
• Experience working with Australian or international clients
• Basic PHP knowledge for minor customisations

What We Offer

• Clear, well-defined work to get started with straight away
• Brisbane timezone (AEST / UTC+10:00) — only 2 hours ahead of Manila
• Professional, respectful working relationship with clear communication
• A genuine path to ongoing work if things click
• Pre-purchased hour blocks available for future work

How to Apply

Please include in your application:
1. A brief summary of your WordPress/Elementor experience
2. Links to 2–3 websites you've worked on (specify what you built or changed)
3. Your hourly rate or a fixed rate for a block of hours
4. Your availability and how soon you can start

We're looking to get someone started quickly.
