About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled and reliable website designer to build clean, mobile-friendly websites for small business clients across different industries, using platforms like WordPress, Wix, Shopify, and Squarespace.
How You Will Operate
Launchpad Website Design takes on multiple contracts with varying needs such as building new websites and updating existing ones. We will contract you out at a flat rate, and provide various projects to you with different timelines.
For example, you might be hired to work 25 hours/week at $X/hr. We will give you various projects and complete by dates for each one.
We commit to not take on more work than you can handle, promise to communicate clearly, and provide you realistic timelines to complete each project.
Responsibilities
Design and build custom websites based on client needs and brand guidelines
Use platforms such as WordPress (Elementor, Divi, Gutenberg), Wix, Shopify, and Squarespace
Set up and optimize basic Cloudflare settings for performance and security (or be willing to learn)
Create responsive, mobile-friendly, fast-loading designs
Implement standard SEO best practices (meta titles, H1s, alt text, etc.)
Configure contact forms, social integrations, and Google Maps
Handle client feedback and apply revisions (within scope)
Maintain clean, organized file structures and documentation for handoff
Qualifications
Portfolio of 3–5 live websites you’ve built on different platforms
Comfortable using:
WordPress (especially Elementor, Divi, or other page builders)
Wix and Squarespace customization
Shopify themes and basic store setup
Cloudflare (DNS setup, SSL, CDN)
Basic understanding of SEO (meta tags, page structure, H1s, etc.)
Able to follow a clear brief and meet deadlines without constant supervision
Good written and verbal communication in English
You are ORGANIZED - This is very important
You are Communicative - You message if there is an issue or question
Bonus: Photoshop, Canva, or basic design tools for light graphics
