Web Designer / Frontend Coder (Shopify + Liquid + HTML/CSS/JS) — Remote

We build and scale multiple international e-commerce brands across different niches (oral care, lifestyle, fragrance). We believe strong brands win when clean design, custom code, and fast pages come together. We use AI where it helps, but our edge is still human craftsmanship—developers who can read a brief, study a reference, and then build it from scratch the right way.


*What this role is about*
You’ll own the web experience end-to-end. Sometimes we’ll give you a rough idea, screenshot, or reference URL; your job is to translate that into production-ready Shopify code: Liquid templates/sections/snippets, semantic HTML, mobile-first CSS, and light JS. You should be comfortable editing theme code, creating completely new components, porting features from other themes into ours, and fixing site speed so our pages feel instant.


*Your Role*

Design ? build landing pages, PDPs, collections, and homepages (mobile first).

Code new Shopify sections/snippets and safely modify existing theme code (Liquid/JSON schema).

Port/migrate components from third-party themes into our base theme; refactor naming and structure to match our standards.

Performance optimization (Core Web Vitals): aim Lighthouse mobile ? 90, LCP < 2.5s, CLS < 0.1. Use lazy-loading, preconnect/preload, critical CSS, minification, WebP/AVIF, and reduce app bloat.

Implement tracking: GA4/GTM, Meta & TikTok pixels, basic events.

Ship quick iterations/A-B tests and learn from data (we value speed).

Keep tidy code and simple notes/changelogs (Git experience is a plus).

Collaborate in ClickUp; give and receive direct, fast feedback.



*Requirements*

You code (not builder-only): Shopify Liquid, HTML5/CSS3 (Flex/Grid), JavaScript/DOM.

Evidence that you can build from scratch, edit theme code, and reverse-engineer from a reference (no design file required).

Strong responsive design sense and conversion mindset (hierarchy, above-the-fold, trust cues).

Comfortable with Chrome DevTools (Network/Performance/Coverage).

Portfolio with live Shopify or landing pages you coded; clearly state what you built.

Reliable internet + backup, and 3–4 hours/day CET overlap.

Nice to have
Tailwind, Alpine/React (for micro-features), schema/accessibility basics, Shopify Functions/Apps, Webflow or WordPress for occasional pages.

Full-time range: typically USD 800–1,600/month depending on skill and portfolio.

For now, we only need freelance tasks. Maybe 1 website a week, 3 days work. Other week nothing, next week 2 websites. In some months, you can be hired fulltime, but on freelance basis it is also fine.
