We are looking for a dedicated and tech-savvy Virtual Math and ELA Teacher to work with middle school students in grades 6–8. This is more than a traditional teaching position we need an educator who thinks like an analyst. You will regularly review student performance data and use those insights to design personalized, targeted lesson plans that help each student grow academically.
This role is 100% remote. You will teach live virtual sessions, communicate with parents, and collaborate with our team in daily check-ins. If you are passionate about student outcomes and comfortable working in a data-informed environment, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Teaching & Instruction
Deliver live, virtual lessons in Math and/or English Language Arts (ELA) for grades 6–8
Follow each student’s personalized learning plan to guide instruction
Host small-group or one-on-one virtual classroom sessions via Zoom, using breakout rooms to differentiate instruction
Provide re-instruction and targeted support for students who need additional practice or academic intervention
Data Analysis & Lesson Planning
Review and analyze student performance data including assessment scores, progress reports, and learning trends
Use data findings to build and adjust lesson plans that directly address each student’s strengths and gaps
Track student growth over time and adjust strategies based on measurable outcomes
Communication & Collaboration
Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians, providing clear and timely progress updates
Attend one daily administrative meeting (1 hour) with the team to align on student needs, goals, and school updates
Collaborate with other educators and staff to ensure a consistent and supportive learning experience for all students
Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Mathematics, English, or a related field
Prior experience teaching or tutoring middle school students (grades 6–8)
Experience with data-driven instruction or student performance analysis is strongly preferred
Technical Requirements
Reliable laptop or desktop computer with a stable, high-speed internet connection
Proficiency with Zoom, including the ability to manage breakout rooms and screen sharing
Comfort with digital tools such as Google Classroom, Google Sheets, or similar platforms for tracking and communication
Skills & Qualities
Strong analytical mindset — able to interpret student data and translate it into actionable lesson plans
Clear and professional communication skills, both written and spoken
Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively in a remote environment
Caring, patient, and student-centered approach to education
What a Typical Day Looks Like
Review student data and performance updates from the previous day
Prepare or adjust lesson plans based on data insights
Host live virtual classroom sessions with students via Zoom (small groups or one-on-one)
Check in with parents via
Attend a 1-hour daily administrative meeting with the school team
Document session notes, student progress, and any follow-up actions needed
