ABOUT US
We turn the anxiety of buying clothes from afar into the joy of connection. We pair customers with skilled artisans to deliver perfect-fit custom garments — combining a delightful online customization experience with a hands-on artisan network. We're an early-stage, bootstrapped startup moving fast toward launch, and we're building a small, sharp team that cares about craft. We're keeping our brand name confidential at this stage — we'll share it once we connect.
THE ROLE
We're looking for a reliable, detail-obsessed Virtual Assistant who can wear several hats well: own our day-to-day social media, set up and maintain our Meta business accounts, manually test new features and flows so we can ship quickly, and support both our business-development outreach and our artisan-success team. You don't need to write code — but you do need to be organized, a clear communicator in English, and genuinely careful.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Social media — plan, create, schedule, and post across our channels, and engage our community.
- Meta Business setup — set up and maintain our Meta Business Suite, shops/catalog, and WhatsApp Business.
- Software testing (manual QA / UAT) — test new features and report bugs clearly so we can ship quickly.
- Business development support — help with outreach, research, and keeping the pipeline organized.
- Artisan success support — help onboard artisans and keep records and content up to date.
- General admin — inbox, calendar, files, and simple process documentation.
WHO YOU ARE
Required:
- 2+ years as a VA, social media coordinator, or similar.
- Excellent written English and clear communication.
- Hands-on with Canva and social scheduling tools.
- Comfortable in (or quick to learn) Meta Business Suite.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable.
- A careful tester's mindset — you notice when something is "off" and document it precisely.
- Reliable computer and stable internet; available during the daily overlap window.
Nice to Have:
- E-commerce, DTC, or fashion-brand experience.
- Familiarity with manually testing web apps and writing bug reports.
- Light video editing (CapCut/Reels).
- WhatsApp Business setup experience.
- Comfort with tools like Notion, Trello, or ClickUp.
- Interest in African fashion and the diaspora market.
HOURS & TIME ZONE
This is a Part-time · ~20 hrs/week role to start. Manila (PHT) runs about 13 hours ahead of Austin (CDT), which actually works in our favor — your morning is our evening, giving us a live daily window to sync.
- Your hours (Manila / PHT): ~7:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Mon–Fri
- Founder's window (Austin / CDT): ~6:00 PM – 10:00 PM, prev. day
- Purpose: Daily overlap for assignments, questions, review & testing turnaround
- Optional flexible weekend block (Manila daytime) for content prep & catch-up.
Exact hours are flexible and set together — the only firm requirement is a consistent daily overlap with the founder's evening window.
WHY PART-TIME FIRST
We're matching the assistant's hours to the founder's evening review capacity, so work gets unblocked quickly rather than stalling. We begin part-time (~20 hrs/week) scheduled in the assistant's morning hours, with a clear path to full-time once there's a consistent backlog you can run autonomously, social + QA are operating against SOPs without hand-holding, and async work flows smoothly for next-evening review.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE (FIRST 90 DAYS)
- Days 1–30: Meta Business Suite fully set up and verified; social calendar live and posting consistently; first UAT passes completed with clean bug reports.
- Days 31–60: Steady posting cadence with measurable engagement growth; a working regression checklist; faster test-to-fix turnaround within the daily overlap.
- Days 61–90: Running social, QA, and admin largely from SOPs with light supervision — the point at which we discuss expanding to full-time.
TOOLS YOU'LL USE
Canva · Meta Business Suite & Commerce Manager · a social scheduler (e.g. Buffer / Later / Metricool) · WhatsApp Business · Google Workspace · a project tool (Notion / Trello / ClickUp) · Loom (screen recordings for bug reports) · and our web app for testing.
HOW TO APPLY
1. Put "CRAFT-VA" in your application subject line so we know you read this fully.
2. Share 2–3 social accounts you've managed (links) and one piece of content you're proud of.
3. In a few sentences, describe a time you spotted and reported a bug or error — what you noticed and how you documented it.
4. Confirm you can work the morning overlap hours (Manila time) described above.
5. Optional but a plus: a 60-second Loom intro in English.
