Compensation: Negotiable hourly rate + performance raises + generous commission for memberships you help close

Hours: 20-30 hours a week


About the Role


We’re a small, fast-moving boat club in New York focused on leisure, community, and premium customer experience. We’re looking for a reliable Virtual Assistant to help run day-to-day digital operations and support outreach to current and potential members. This role blends admin, marketing support, and sales/outreach, ideal for someone who’s organized, social, and sharp at problem-solving.



What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)


You’ll help keep the business running smoothly across marketing, communications, and systems:



Marketing + Content

Create and schedule social media posts (IG/FB, and others as needed)

Design simple marketing materials (flyers, promos, event graphics, lead magnets)

Assist with content ideas, captions, basic video/reel support (nice-to-have)



Systems + Operations

Manage Zoho (Zoho One / Zoho CRM and related tools)

Maintain and update CRM: contacts, pipelines, notes, tags, tasks, follow-ups

Data tracking/management (lead sources, outreach activity, conversion tracking)

Write and improve SOPs (simple step-by-step process documents)

Support scheduling/calendar management



Outreach + Sales Support

Cold calling from provided lead lists

Outreach to current members/clients and local businesses (partnerships/referrals)


Email
ing and follow-up sequences (templates provided; improvements welcomed)

Basic research (local businesses, events, competitor offers, audience insights)



Customer Service

Respond to inquiries professionally (DMs, email, text as assigned)

Help ensure leads and members get quick, clear, friendly communication

Escalate issues when needed and document outcomes



Requirements (Must-Have)
Strong problem-solving skills (you don’t freeze when something is unclear)

Very organized and consistent (you track tasks, follow-ups, and details)

Sociable and confident communicator (written + verbal)

Reliable internet, phone access for calls, and comfort using modern tools

Ability to follow systems and also improve them when you notice gaps

Professional communication and fast response times during agreed work hours



Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
Experience with Zoho One / Zoho CRM

Sales experience (especially consultative sales)

Cold calling experience

Basic graphic design experience (Canva strongly preferred)

Experience with simple automation tools (Zapier, CRM workflows)



Performance Expectations


This role is results-driven. Success looks like:

Consistent execution of weekly deliverables (posts, follow-ups, CRM updates)

Clean CRM and accurate tracking

Increased show-ups, booked calls/visits, and membership conversions

Proactive communication: you flag issues early and propose solutions
