Job Description:
We’re hiring a creative, resourceful Video Editor and Channel Manager to do video editing for YouTube including long-form and short-form content, thumbnail creation, YouTube best practices (titles, SEO basics, CTR optimization, retention strategies), and YouTube channel management. Uses CapCut or Adobe Premiere Pro and Canva. Involves content production, branding consistency, optimization, and content repurposing.
Requirements:
Proven experience in video editing for YouTube.
Strong proficiency in CapCut (free version acceptable) or Adobe Premiere Pro.
Advanced level preferred in Canva.
Experience creating YouTube thumbnails that drive engagement.
Understanding of YouTube best practices including titles, SEO basics, CTR optimization, and retention strategies.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle urgent requests professionally.
Reliable internet connection and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:?
Experience managing YouTube channels end-to-end.
Understanding of YouTube analytics.
Familiarity with branding and digital marketing principles.
Experience editing talking-head or educational content.
Responsibilities:
Edit long-form YouTube videos using CapCut (preferred), Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar professional editing software
Create short-form clips from long-form videos (YouTube Shorts, highlight clips, etc.)
Add captions, transitions, sound effects, music, graphics, and basic motion elements
Ensure videos are engaging, cleanly edited, and aligned with YouTube best practices
Maintain consistent branding style across all content
Design high-converting YouTube thumbnails using Canva
Create supporting graphics such as channel banners, end screens, overlays
Optimize thumbnails for CTR (clear text, contrast, compelling visuals)Ensure branding consistency across thumbnails and channel visuals
Upload and schedule videos on YouTube in a timely manner
Write optimized titles, descriptions, and tags
Add timestamps, end screens, cards, and playlists
Ensure proper formatting and metadata optimization
Maintain an organized content calendar
Monitor video performance metrics when required
Clip engaging segments from long-form videos for repurposing
Prepare vertical content when needed
Adapt formatting depending on platform requirements
