JOB OVERVIEW

The Video Editor will be responsible for transforming raw footage into platform-optimized content across all social channels.

Core Responsibilities:
Edit Reels, Shorts, and TikTok content
Edit long-form YouTube content
Create captions and subtitles
Apply motion graphics and branded elements
Color correction and audio balancing
Export content to platform specifications
Deliver finalized assets for approval

Previous Editor Feedback / Requirements:
Must be able to comprehend visual direction and creative concepts at an outstanding or exceptional level with minimal hand-holding.

Must have previous experience editing for influencers, personal brands, and/or trending social content.
Must review Meg's existing Instagram and YouTube content to gain a strong understanding of our current style, pacing, messaging, and expectations. While the brand is continuing to grow and evolve, understanding what is already working is essential.

Must be willing to make revisions until the vision is executed correctly.
If AI is used during the editing process, there must be a quality control system in place before content reaches our team. We've experienced issues with caption errors, incorrect clip selections, and inaccurate edits generated by AI.
Must be available during reasonable business hours and capable of occasional quick-turnaround requests. While most projects are planned in advance, there are times when a 24-hour turnaround is required.
Full-time availability is preferred, ideally working Eastern Time business hours.
We are looking for someone who wants to become part of the team long-term and grow with the brand, rather than operate solely as an external contractor.

Additional Questions/Requirements:
What editing software do they primarily use?
What is their average turnaround time for a standard reel/video?
Can they provide examples of content that has performed well organically?
Are they comfortable following established brand guidelines while also bringing creative ideas to the table?
How do they handle project management, communication, and revision requests?
Are they comfortable creating multiple pieces of content from a single long-form asset (podcast, interview, webinar, etc.)?
Must be proactive, not just task-oriented. We are looking for someone who can identify stronger hooks, content opportunities, and creative improvements rather than simply executing instructions.
