The role TouchTone DSG is a music-production + AI-product content brand. We're documenting the live build of MIXSTEIN — an AI that mixes like its creator — on YouTube and short-form. I need an editor who owns the craft of the cut so I can stay on hook, accuracy, and taste. Nail this and you become the engine that lets the whole channel scale.
What you'd cut
Long-form YouTube (16:9) — talking-head intercut with software/demo screen recordings
Short-form (9:16) pulled from the long-form — Shorts / Reels / TikTok
Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve
The audience (this is the whole job) Pro and intermediate audio engineers — not a general TikTok crowd. Long attention for substance, zero patience for fluff:
Slower, confident cuts. Let demos breathe — a 6-second hold on a working demo beats six jump-cuts.
No "AI-slop" pacing — no spam zoom-punches, no fake-MrBeast gimmicks, no whoosh on every transition.
Premium, a little mysterious. We're creating a category, not chasing a trend.
On-screen accuracy is part of the craft This audience freeze-frames. Every number, spec, and brand name on screen has to be right. You'll flag on-screen text/claims with timestamps so I can verify before publish. Clean, static (non-kinetic) subtitles — not bouncing-word TikTok captions.
How we'd work (no micromanaging) Brief + organized footage fro
To start: one paid test cut. If it clicks, we move to a standing per-project arrangement that scales with the channel.
You're a fit if you:
Cut in Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve and have edited talking-head + screen-recording / tutorial-style content
Can match a brand aesthetic and hold it consistent
Sweat on-screen accuracy and clean subtitle work
Hit deadlines and communicate clearly
Bonus: you care about music production, audio, or AI
