Bookcicle is an author-first integrated, streamlined manuscript workflow platform helping writers move from draft to publication-ready work through a connected, writer-first workflow. We are building a modern SaaS platform for authors and are looking for a talented Video Content Creator & Editor who can help bring our product, workflows, and brand story to life through compelling video content.

Position

Video Content Creator & Editor (Remote)

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented professional who can create high-quality video content quickly without sacrificing quality. This role supports marketing, product education, social media, and investor-facing content.

Content Creation Responsibilities
In addition to editing provided footage, the ideal candidate must be able to create engaging content using:
Public domain content
Royalty-free stock footage
Creative Commons assets (when appropriately licensed)
Motion graphics and animations
Screenshots and screen recordings
Text-based storytelling techniques
AI-assisted creative tools where appropriate

Responsibilities
Edit engaging short-form and long-form video content.
Transform raw footage into polished, professional videos.
Take written scripts and independently create finished video content.
Source appropriate visuals, footage, graphics, and supporting assets when original footage is unavailable.
Create product demo videos that clearly explain software features and workflows.
Add captions, graphics, transitions, animations, and motion elements.
Repurpose long-form content into multiple short-form assets.
Maintain visual consistency across all Bookcicle content.
Collaborate with the Bookcicle team on creative direction and content strategy.
Meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.


Required Qualifications
Excellent written and spoken English proficiency.
Strong portfolio demonstrating both short-form and long-form editing.
Experience creating content from scripts with minimal direction.
Experience editing SaaS, technology, startup, or product-focused content.
Proficiency with professional editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent and access to this software.
Strong understanding of social media content trends and platform best practices.
Ability to create clean, modern motion graphics.
Strong visual storytelling skills.
Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with startups or SaaS companies.
Experience creating investor-facing content.
Experience with AI-assisted content creation tools.
Basic graphic design skills.
Experience creating YouTube thumbnails.
Understanding of copyright, licensing, and content usage requirements.

Selection Process

Phase 1: Portfolio Review
Selected applicants will advance to the next stage based on portfolio quality, relevant experience, communication skills, and overall fit.

Phase 2: Paid Video Assessment
Applicants selected for the next phase will be provided with a short creative brief and script. They will be required to create and submit a short-form video demonstrating their ability to:

Follow direction
Create compelling visual storytelling
Source appropriate supporting media
Maintain high production quality
Communicate effectively in English

The video assessment must be completed and submitted before an interview will be scheduled.
