JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Technical SEO Developer to join our team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between development and SEO strategy — auditing websites, resolving technical issues, and collaborating cross-functionally to improve organic search performance. You will work closely with our content team and bring hands-on platform experience to deliver measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits to identify crawlability, indexability, and performance issues.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues including broken links, redirect chains, duplicate content, canonicalization errors, and structured data problems.
Implement and monitor structured data (schema markup) and validate with Google Rich Results Test.
Analyze and improve Core Web Vitals and overall page speed using Google PageSpeed Insights.
Monitor website health and search performance through Google Search Console; surface insights and take corrective action.
Partner with the content team to provide SEO guidance on content structure, internal linking, and on-page optimization.
Perform crawl-based analysis using Screaming Frog to identify site-wide technical issues at scale.
Develop and maintain SEO best practices documentation for use across technical and content teams.
Stay current with Google algorithm updates, Core Web Vitals benchmarks, and evolving technical SEO standards.

Required Qualifications
Proven experience in technical SEO, with a strong understanding of how search engine crawling, indexing, and ranking work.
Proficiency with one or more CMS platforms: WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, and/or Drupal.
Hands-on experience with Google Search Console, Google Rich Results Test, Screaming Frog, and Google PageSpeed Insights.
Solid front-end development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) with the ability to implement technical fixes directly.
Ability to interpret SEO data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have
Experience with log file analysis and server-side SEO diagnostics.
Familiarity with JavaScript SEO and rendering frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js).
Knowledge of XML sitemaps, robots.txt optimization, and hreflang implementation.
Experience using additional SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Moz.

What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is equal parts developer and SEO strategist — someone who can get into the code to fix issues but also communicate clearly with writers and marketers about how content decisions affect search performance. You are detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable owning projects from audit through implementation.
