JOB OVERVIEW

Full-Time Remote Role, Philippines-Based
----------------------------------------------------------
We are looking for a full-time Strategic Website Designer based in the Philippines.

This role is ideal for someone who is strong in Figma, understands website design, and can think strategically about clients, their customers, brand direction, industry patterns, and what makes a website work.

This is not just a production design role. We are looking for someone who can understand the brief, think through the customer journey, research competitors, recommend website direction, and then support that direction in Figma.

Role Overview
-------------------
You will help turn client goals, customer needs, brand direction, website references, and competitor research into a clear internal website strategy and design direction.

You do not need to lead client calls, but you must be able to sit in meetings, understand what clients are saying, extract the important points, and translate that into useful internal notes, design direction, and Figma updates.

You will work closely with our internal team across website strategy, design, and delivery

Key Responsibilities
---------------------------
- Review client briefs, meeting notes, recordings, brand assets, and website references
- Understand what the client wants, what their customers need, and what the website needs to achieve
- Analyse websites the client likes and dislikes
- Research competitor websites and industry patterns
- Identify trust signals, conversion sections, content structure, and visual styles that work in each industry
- Recommend website direction based on customer needs and business goals
- Create look-and-feel concepts in Figma
- Create new website sections in Figma
- Improve layout, spacing, hierarchy, flow, and visual polish
- Update existing Figma designs based on internal direction
- Write clear internal notes explaining design decisions and strategic recommendations
- Keep ClickUp tasks updated with progress, blockers, and time entries
- Communicate clearly with the team via Slack and Google Docs
- Use ChatGPT to support research, summaries, and strategic thinking where useful

What We Are Looking For
-----------------------------------
You should be a mid-to-senior-level website designer with strong strategic thinking.

You should be able to take messy input and turn it into clear website direction.

We are looking for someone who can think before designing.

A strong candidate can say:
“Based on the customer’s needs, the homepage should build trust early, show proof, and make the offer clear, reduce friction, and use a more premium visual direction because the market is crowded.”

A weak candidate only says:
“I can make modern websites in Figma.”

We are looking for the first type.

Required Skills
---------------------
- Strong Figma skills
- Website design experience
- Ability to create new website sections, not just edit existing designs
- Good understanding of layout, spacing, hierarchy, and visual polish
- Ability to create early look-and-feel concepts
- Ability to understand client brands
- Ability to analyse competitor websites
- Ability to understand customer needs and website goals
- Clear written English for internal notes and design rationale
- Good communication in Slack and Google Docs
- Comfortable using ClickUp for task updates and time tracking
- Comfortable using ChatGPT as a thinking and research support tool

English Requirement
-----------------------------
You do not need to be a copywriter or client presenter.

However, you must be able to write clear internal notes, summarise client requirements, explain design decisions, and provide simple website section direction.

Example of the level we need:
“The client wants the site to feel modern, premium, and trustworthy. Their customers are likely comparing providers, so the homepage should quickly communicate credibility, outcomes, and service clarity. The reference websites suggest they prefer clean layouts, strong imagery, and simple navigation.”

Tools You Must Be Comfortable With
----------------------------------------------------
- Figma
- ClickUp
- Slack
- Google Docs
- ChatGPT

Work Hours
-----------------
This is a full-time role.

You must be available to work:
- 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Australian Eastern Standard Time

For candidates in the Philippines, this is usually around:
- 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Philippines time

Please only apply if you can work these hours long-term.

Role Structure
-------------------
- Full-time remote contractor role
- Philippines-based candidates only
- 3-month probation period
- If successful after probation, the role continues on the same agreed monthly salary
- 1 week notice during probation
- 2 weeks' notice after probation
- Unpaid leave only
- Contractor must provide their own laptop, stable internet, and suitable work setup
- This is a fully exclusive role. You must not work with other clients while engaged in this role
- Daily time tracking is required in ClickUp
- No screenshots or activity monitoring required
- Confidentiality and IP ownership agreement required

Access and Confidentiality
------------------------------------
You will have access to internal documentation, project files, client information, Figma files, brand assets, and other materials required to do the role well.

All work created during the role, including strategy notes, design concepts, Figma files, website layouts, written documentation, research outputs, and related assets, will be owned by the company.

You may not share client work publicly, use it in a portfolio, or reuse it elsewhere without written approval.

Who This Role Is Not For
---------------------------------
Please do not apply if:
- You only want to follow the exact design instructions
- You are not comfortable thinking strategically
- You cannot explain your design decisions
- You do not like researching competitors or industries
- You only want production design tasks
- You cannot work 9:00 am to 5:30 pm AEST
