Overview
This role centers on full-stack engineering with a specialization in automation and system integration. The engineer will design scalable workflows, build application logic, develop custom integration components, and ensure seamless communication between internal and external systems. n8n is a core tool in the stack, but the position spans backend development, API engineering, and data layer design.
Core Responsibilities
• Design and implement full-stack solutions that incorporate automated workflows, custom services, and API integrations.
• Build advanced n8n workflows and custom nodes that interact with applications, databases, and third-party APIs.
• Develop backend services using JavaScript/TypeScript, with optional Python components.
• Architect, configure, and maintain data storage layers including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability across workflows and supporting services.
• Deliver technical documentation covering architecture, integration patterns, and code design.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to translate requirements into end-to-end software solutions.
Required Qualifications
• Proven experience with n8n, including complex workflow development and custom node engineering.
• Strong full-stack development skills with emphasis on JavaScript/TypeScript. Python is a plus.
• Experience with database schema design, optimization, and administration.
• Solid understanding of REST/JSON APIs, webhooks, authentication, and integration architecture.
• Ability to design maintainable, scalable, secure systems across both application and automation layers.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in distributed environments.
• Comfort working independently in a fast-moving startup context.
Preferred Experience
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and automated deployment pipelines.
• Familiarity with AI integrations or machine learning APIs.
• Background with automation platforms such as Zapier, Make, or Integromat.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure environments including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Candidate Profile
A full-stack engineer who thinks in terms of systems and data flow. Skilled at bridging application logic with workflow automation. Capable of converting ambiguous operational challenges into cohesive, scalable software solutions.
What This Role Offers
• Work across the full stack while owning automation architecture that directly influences growth.
• A collaborative engineering culture focused on solving complex technical problems.
• Fully remote work flexibility.
• Competitive compensation aligned with engineering depth and automation expertise.
