Synchora builds tooling to encode choreography as structured data and render it as dynamic 2D/3D visualizations. We’re hiring gig engineers who can formalize movement grammars and ship real-time, high-fidelity rendering systems.
What You’ll Do
Design data models for dance notation (e.g., Laban-inspired symbolic systems; parametric joint/pose graphs).
Build pipelines to ingest motion-capture streams and manual annotations into a unified representation.
Implement real-time pose inference, interpolation, and temporal alignment across sequences.
Develop interactive visualization layers (WebGL/Three.js/Babylon, Unity, or custom GL).
Prototype UI for choreographers to annotate, edit, and version movement phrases.
Core Requirements
Strong graphics and geometry foundations: skeletal kinematics, quaternions, FK/IK, retargeting.
Experience with 3D engines or WebGL stacks; ability to write performant GLSL shaders.
Comfort designing domain-specific representations (state machines, temporal graphs, symbolic parsers).
Motion-related ML a plus (pose estimation, sequence alignment, diffusion-based motion generation).
Solid engineering fundamentals: TypeScript or Python, plus C++ for performance-critical modules.
Nice to Have
Experience in mocap, animation, VFX, HCI, or computational choreography.
Knowledge of Labanotation, Benesh, or any movement-analysis system.
Why This Matters
You’ll help codify the grammar of human movement—turning dance into a manipulable, computational medium.
