Software Developer

Glow is a web application that allows WordPress developers to manage all their clients’ websites from one dashboard.

We have a growing number of paying customers and need an extra developer to be able to keep building the product at the pace we want to.

We are looking for a software developer to join our team and to work alongside our other developers, who are currently outsourced.


Your attitude:

- Excellent communication - it’s imperative that your communication skills are outstanding

- Thoroughly check all work before handing over - only handover work for us to test once you have thoroughly tested it yourself

- Ability to work alongside others in the team - you will be working with our other developers, Head of Product and on occasion, Glow’s Founder

- Be a problem solver - you may not have all the answers to solve any given problem, but you know how to deal with a ---------- ing all the resources at your disposal, you can find proposed solutions and collaboratively implement a working solution

Plugin (we have built a plugin for connecting Glow with WordPress websites)

- S3 (For any config storage)
- ACM (To generate SSL certs)
- Application Load Balancer (To attach custom subdomains / SSL certificates)

Technical (Skills you’re required to have):

- Node.js
- Vue.js
- PHP
- GitHub
- Detailed understanding of AWS
- Ability to read our User Stories and Wireframes (screen designs) and make sure the finished product matches these exactly
- Excellent written and spoken English

Nice to have:

- Detailed understanding of how WordPress works

Outcomes:

You’ll be responsible for ensuring:

- All code is written clean and coherently and commenting is used extensively to help other developers working on the project

- Excellent communication with the other developers working on the project so that we can be assured all code is written well and tested thoroughly before launch

- You communicate daily with the team to update us on the work completed

- Once live, any bugs are fixed quickly to minimise downtime / poor experience for our customers

- You provide your professional advice where applicable to help with creating the highest quality end result
