Web Design & Database Manager Job Description
- 2 to 4 years minimum experience
- Simple web development (create hmtl pages, php scripting)
- MYsql Database installations/maintenance/scripting
- Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to E-Commerce applications.
- Wordpress administration and development
- Odds and ends tech work related to the upkeep of many sites
- Unix/Linux administration
Overall responsibility:
Candidate must have a strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.
Deep expertise and hands on experience with Web Applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and API's.
Website design and maintenance work. Also some programming
Database setup and maintenance - for Wordpress and other apps.
Key areas of responsibility:
Trobuleshooting system issues - from CPU load to broken pages
Cleaning up Google Webmaster issues
Website security - ensuring holes are patched, vulnerabilities are eliminated
Website look and feel – making sure the sites are up and available
Assuring my software is working normally, while also integrating with third-party services
New product launch assistance
Backup administration
Database maintenance, pruning
Site optimization (speed, best practices, SEO)
Testing
Tasks:
Designing web pages
WordPress customization (themes, plugins) and installation
Website tweaks
Database management – regular backups
Site management - backups
Limited programming – software customization and tweaks
Other web-based tasks
