Signage Designer – Channel Letters, Illuminated & Architectural Signage (Remote, Part-Time/Freelance)

We’re looking for a professional signage designer with hands-on experience creating production-ready artwork for channel letters, illuminated signs, monument signs, and other permanent architectural signage. PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE CHANNEL LETTER and illuminated sign EXPERIENCE. Do not apply if your experience is only with logo design or non signage related graphic design.

This is a specialized design role that requires more than just graphic design—you should understand how your files will translate into fabricated, installed signage for real-world environments.

If you’ve worked with signage fabricators, installation teams, or brand rollouts involving building signage, you’ll be a great fit.

*** What You’ll Be Doing:

Design and prepare vector-based layouts for:

Channel letters (halo-lit, front-lit, reverse-lit)

Illuminated sign cabinets

Monument and pylon signs

Dimensional letters & logo signage

Create scaled, production-ready files (.AI / PDF / EPS), with proper callouts, bleed, and fabrication notes if needed

Mock up signage on building elevations or photos for client and city approvals

Collaborate on applying brand guidelines across various sign types and physical formats

Work with sign fabrication specs or templates when provided

*** Ideal Candidate Has:

* Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (vector-focused)

* Experience designing for permanent signage (not just banners or print ads)

* Familiarity with common signage materials: acrylic, aluminum, LED modules, vinyl, etc.

* Understanding of mounting methods, readability, and viewing distance

* Clear communication in English (written + spoken)

Bonus:

Experience creating signage permit drawings or scaled elevations

Background working with sign fabricators or architectural firms
